Spend a full day exploring Ushuaia’s winter landscapes. Travel from the city to a snowy valley surrounded by forests and peaks, then rotate through classic cold-season activities. Walk on snowshoes to broad viewpoints, ride a two-seater snowmobile on groomed trails, enjoy a dog sled run with eager huskies, and traverse white plains aboard a tracked vehicle. At midday, warm up inside a heated dome with a comforting lunch. It is a balanced plan for active travelers and families who want variety in a single day outdoors.
ITINERARY
Pick-up is scheduled for 8:30 AM at your hotel in Ushuaia. After a short transfer to Tierra Mayor Valley, a safety briefing and gear check set the tone for the day. The first activity is a guided snowshoe walk of about 1 hour and 30 minutes through lenga woodland and open snowfields, reaching panoramic viewpoints over the Fuegian landscape.
The program continues with a guided circuit on two-seater snowmobiles, covering roughly 5 kilometers along marked winter tracks across valleys and frozen peatlands. Then it is time to meet the huskies for a traditional dog sled ride along a dedicated snowy trail. To reach more remote corners of the valley, board a comfortable tracked 4×4 vehicle and glide across the snow-covered plains.
Around midday, lunch is served in a heated dome. The usual menu features an empanada, a hot mountain stew, and dessert, accompanied by tea or coffee. Vegetarian options are available on request. Beverages are not included. In the afternoon, enjoy time for tobogganing or a relaxed walk in the surroundings. Return to your hotel is planned for about 4:30 PM.

If for any reason, you decide to cancel the activity or excursion, the cancellation conditions specified in the product description or in the voucher will be valid.
In the event that the cancellation conditions in the product description do not differ, the provider of tourist services will charge you the following cancellation fees:
- a. Up to 72 hours before the start of the activity: full refund (again we indicate that in certain specific cases the term may differ from this general policy)
- b. After 72 hours before the start of the activity: no refund.
FAQs
Is this activity available on December 24th, 25th, 31st or January 1st?
This program operates in winter only, typically from mid-June to September, and always depends on snow conditions.
Are there age restrictions?
Children from 4 years old can take part. For safety reasons, minors must share the snowmobile with an adult.
Do I need to bring my own snow gear?
Yes, participants should bring appropriate winter clothing including snow boots, waterproof pants, gloves, and a warm jacket. Gear rental may be available in Ushuaia if needed.
Can I drive the snowmobile myself?
Yes, snowmobiles are shared by two passengers, and you can switch drivers halfway through the ride. A brief instruction will be given before starting.
What happens if the caterpillar ride can’t be done due to snow conditions?
If terrain conditions prevent the 4×4 caterpillar ride, the activity will be replaced or skipped without refund, as indicated in the tour terms.
Are meals included in the tour?
Yes, lunch is included and served in the dome (empanada, mountain stew, dessert). Beverages are not included.
