OVERVIEW

Set off on a full-day adventure from the port of Ushuaia, navigating the scenic Beagle Channel. Take in sweeping views of the city, visit sea lion and cormorant colonies, and see the iconic Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse. Get up close to Magellanic and Gentoo penguins on Martillo Island, then continue to Punta Paraná and the remote Ruca Kellen farm, the southernmost in the world. Wrap up the experience with a flavorful lunch at Akum restaurant, surrounded by native forest.

ITINERARY

Your journey begins at Ushuaia port with a boat ride through the breathtaking Beagle Channel. As the vessel departs, enjoy expansive views of Ushuaia and the surrounding mountains while sailing through the scenic Bridges Archipelago. Along the way, observe colonies of sea lions and Imperial cormorants in their natural surroundings.

The route then leads you to the famous Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse and the site of the 1930 shipwreck of the “Monte Cervantes,” adding a touch of local history to the voyage.

Next, arrive at Martillo Island, home to a bustling colony of Magellanic penguins and a smaller group of Gentoo penguins. The boat will approach the shore for an intimate wildlife viewing experience, giving you the chance to observe these charming birds up close.

From there, continue toward Punta Paraná, where you’ll disembark and meet a guide for a land transfer to Ruca Kellen, the world’s southernmost farm. Explore its peaceful gardens, themed trails, and handcrafted local products.

Finally, enjoy a delicious lunch at Akum restaurant, located in a tranquil forest setting with panoramic views. Savor regional dishes in a cozy atmosphere that captures the spirit of Patagonia.

After a day full of nature, wildlife, and authentic culture, return to Ushuaia with unforgettable memories of your Patagonian exploration.

The best time to see penguins in their natural habitat is during the breeding season, which typically occurs from October to March. This is when the penguins are most active, and the conditions are ideal for the tour.

The boat ride along the Beagle Channel is generally smooth, but conditions can vary depending on the weather. It’s always a good idea to dress warmly and be prepared for occasional choppy waters.
