ITINERARY

This hike to the Turquoise Lagoon and Mount Carbajal takes you through one of the most stunning and least explored areas in Tierra del Fuego. The excursion begins at our office located at Roca 136, followed by a short transfer to the Tierra Mayor Valley. From there, we set off on a challenging trek that leads to the striking turquoise waters of this glacial lagoon nestled in the Sierra Sorondo. We’ll take time to rest and fully enjoy the serenity of this remarkable spot.

The first section of the trail climbs steeply, surrounded by ancient subantarctic Fuegian forest. After about 45 to 60 minutes of uphill effort, we leave the forest behind and begin to take in breathtaking panoramic views. As we continue along the ridge, the small turquoise lagoon comes into sight. Further on, we reach the summit of Mount Carbajal, where a sweeping view reveals the glacial traces left behind from the last Ice Age. These glaciers once filled the Tierra Mayor and Carbajal valleys, shaping the spectacular landscape that stretches toward the Beagle Channel—a truly majestic and unforgettable sight.
